How To Keep Your Vinyl Albums Unscratched

The Compact Disc altered how computers and music devices stored, played back and read data, and unlike past cassette and floppy discs, added more storage memory for computer users. Originally created in the early 90s, CDs were designed to replace floppy drives and cassettes, and over a 10-year period, they not only replaced floppies and cassettes, but made them completely obsolete. Videos, music, data and even video games were all placed on a CD, which was used as a new, multi-purpose data storage item of the future. If it were not for the CD, music, software and even movies would not look the same.

How to Form a Quality Band

The Yamaha YPT-220 Digital Piano Keyboard is a decent starting electronic keyboard for developing a student's skills. Beginners will find that the keyboard allows a learner to learn easy parts that he or she can in due course stick to and play throughout practice. With a complete kit which has good quality earphones as well as a stand, it possibly will allow it to be less difficult to facilitate learning even without a piano teacher.

Seth Rogen Kicks Off The Spirit Awards! Goes After Chris Brown, Mel Gibson And Brett Ratner!!

No one was safe during Seth Rogen's monologue at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards last night!
The funny man killed it for the most part during his 15-minute opening and even blasted Chris Brown, Mel Gibson, and director/producer Brett Ratner!
He joked:
"At the Grammys, you can literally beat the shit out of a nominee and be asked [...]

Turns out, Selena Gomez's new tattoo is very close to her heart.... but, it isn't actually a heart.

So, what is it exactly?

The Disney star revealed what the tiny little tat on her right wrist actually is:

"It's a music note. Everybody thought it was a heart, but it's a little music note.

I was named after a singer and music obviously is a big influence for me. And there's music stuff with my mom that means a lot to me, too."

Aww! Our sweet little Selenita is so sentimental! And what an awesome shout out to the late Selena, the Latina pop star of the '90s.

Loves it!

Robert Downey Jr.s Son Born This Morning

News has just emerged that Robert Downey Jr.’s wife Susan Downey gave birth to their baby boy this morning. It is Susan’s first child, but Robert has an 18 year old son from his previous marriage. Read on to find out the little one’s name… Exton Elias Downey! Robert Downey Jr. has been busy promoting [...]

Last night was a very quite night for me. I pretty much spent most of my time reading and watching TV. I wasn’t planning on settling in for a movie last night but I came upon a showing of Rocky II on cable and was immediately sucked in. I haven’t seen any of the Rocky movies in many years … and as for Rocky II itself, well, I’m quite certain I haven’t watched the movie in full for well over 25 years. Thankfully, I caught the film right as it started and, well, it was a Rocky night for me ;)

I have to say, I kinda love the usual Rocky movie formula … the first 60% of the film features Rocky refusing to fight. The next 30% of the film features Rocky deciding to fight and then training to fight. The next 8% of the film features Rocky getting beaten to a pulp by whoever he is fighting. And the final 2% of the film features Rocky coming back to win in the end. We can’t help but root for Rocky because he is always the underdog. It’s a brilliant formula. To be honest, I think Rocky IV is my fave Rocky film … if you add the USA vs. Soviet Union mid-80s tension to the Rocky formula, you’ve got GOLD. If you are in the mood for a feel good, all-American movie and you can handle watching men beat each other silly, then I wholeheartedly recommend the first 4 Rocky films. I believe if you search your cable listings, you’ll find that Rocky III is on TV tonight and Rocky IV is on TV tomorrow.

Yo, Adrian!

No plans for tonight … I may watch Rocky III, I may not. I have a bit of stuff to take care of around the house and I’m still really into my Walt Disney book so … I’m thinkin’ it’s going to be a really quite night here at the ol’ homestead. Happy Tuesday!

Oprah Makes Joel Osteen Admit That He Thinks Homosexuality Is A Sin

Oh, but good news! The good pastor says despite being sinners, the gays will be welcomed into heaven with open arms … once they admit fault for their "sin," of course.
What a guy, huh? Such understanding.
On Sunday night's episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter, The Big O sat down for a controversial interview with Pastor [...]

Oh hell to every yes!

Now, some have said to us that they've felt a drag in the current season of Glee. Not that it hasn't been good, but that something has been missing; something that was really prevelant in previous seasons, but blantantly missing from this one. To them we say ... quit your whining! Here's your damn tribute episode!

Kicking off the new year, we're getting season three's mega-ultra-super-extraoridnary tribute to the late-great Michael Jackson. What is truly incredible about this episode is the sheer mass amount of music that will be covered and the nice homage to the full spectrum of his catalogue.

While promoting the show this weekend at FOX's Television Critics Association bash, a few of the show's cast members teased what will be coming on the episode. Let's go ahead an put up a SPOILER ALERT right here, before someone stumbles upon a tidbit of info they just don't want to know. For the rest of you...

First of all, the episode is going to feature EVERYONE, including newbie cute Grant Gustin. According to the stud, his character Sebastian is going to do something "majorly douche-y" to one of the members of New Directions that pits him against the entire group, particularly Santana. (We're guessing his target is her beloved Brittany then!) Grant reveals:

“Santana comes to Dalton [Academy] and confronts me. And then we go into ‘Smooth Criminal’ together.”

Okay. So far, so good! Now, you Dalton fans will be getting a double dose of Warbler fare, as the boys will pop up for their own number (a Jackson 5 treat) and a throwdown against the New Directions to Bad. Other HIGHlights from the episode are said to include Harry Shum Jr. and Kevin McHale waling and dancing to the Michael-Janet duet Scream, while Kurt Hummel will be serenading his beloved Blaine with the oddly picked tune, Ben. No one -- and we do mean no one -- is more confused by the song selection than Chris Colfer, who says:

“I have no idea [why it was chosen], but I know it was voted the worst song in history by some group. It was about a rat, but we’re singing it about Kurt’s boyfriend. I’m not sure what the connection is! They didn’t [change lyrics from "Ben" to "Blaine"]; that would have been clever, though.”

Guess we'll have to wait and see how that one pans out! LOL!

Are U looking forward to the upcoming Michael Jackson tribute? Is there a scene or song you are really looking forward to?

Beyoncé Jay Z Release A Statement About The Birth Of Blue Ivy

Mere moments ago, we got our first listen of a NEW song released by Jay-Z that was written in honor of and features guest vocals by his newborn daughter Blue Ivy (who was born late Saturday night, under the strictest security). Right now, we get to hear officially from Jay and his wife Beyoncé about [...]

The fabulous Betty White will celebrate her 90th birthday next Tuesday January 17 but on Monday the 16th, NBC will pay homage to the enduring Golden Girl with a TV special called Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America’s Golden Girl. This birthday special will feature a host of celebrity stars that will share their Birthday Lurve for our dear Betty. Additionally, the Betty Crocker company is also celebrating their 90th birthday this year … and they graciously provided a massively festive birthday cake for Betty White‘s NBC birthday celebration. Click below to check out some photos of Betty White, her famous friends Carol Burnett & Mary Tyler Moore and her very own Betty Crocker birthday cake at last night’s TV special taping.

From one legend to another, Betty Crocker has created a show-stopping birthday cake for Betty White’s 90th birthday special, which airs Monday, January 16 (8-9:30 p.m. ET) on NBC. Betty Crocker will present Betty White with a vibrant Triple Chocolate Celebration Cake inspired by the legendary star. Betty Crocker will also provide each celebrity guest of the NBC special with one of several hundred individual cakes that replicate the look of the Celebration Cake’s top tier. Both Betty Crocker and Betty White are celebrating their ninetieth year as American icons. “Betty White is one of the most popular actresses of our time, and Betty Crocker is honored to create this one-of-a-kind birthday cake for her,” said Kristen Olson, food editor with Betty Crocker. “This cake is our gift to Betty White in celebration of her ninety amazing years, and we think this vibrant cake really reflects her personality and the many things we love about her.” The three-tiered Triple Chocolate Celebration Cake, flown by private plane from Betty Crocker’s Minneapolis home to Los Angeles for Betty White’s birthday, is a decadent chocolate cake layered with sumptuous chocolate mousse and rich chocolate ganache. Marrying classic and modern elements, the red, orange and magenta cake is decorated with dozens of fondant roses, shimmery edible pearls and golden candles – and hidden among the roses – a small replica of Betty’s beloved dog Pontiac. The NBC special will celebrate White’s 90th birthday and will honor one of the world’s most beloved entertainers. The star-studded event will be taped live at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including many of White’s co-stars, will be on hand to deliver their birthday wishes. The evening will include special musical performances, surprise appearances and comedy, featuring the irreverent tone, spirit and energy that are the hallmark of White’s six-decade career in show business. The 90-minute special is produced by Brad Lachman Productions and Universal Television; the executive producers are Brad Lachman, Jon Macks and Steve Ridgeway.

Betty White and Betty Crocker are American legends … icons … national treasures … it only makes sense that they would team up to celebrate their 90th birthdays together. I mean … this cake … wow. Next week’s NBC TV special will be rad because it will be all about the celebration of Betty White. At the age of 90 years young, Betty White endures as one of our most beloved stars. Doesn’t she look amazing in these photos? I can’t wait to send my Birthday Lurve to Betty on her big day next week. Talk about your Happy Birthdays ;)

Kathy Griffin To Host New Show Kathy

We already have a ton of them, but Bravo seems to be continuing to add to the list! In November last year they announced that Andy Cohen’s late-night show Watch What Happens Live would be airing five nights a week (!!) but now the cable network has gone further and announced today that comedian Kathy [...]

My Saturday turned out to be a pretty fun day/night. Yesterday morning I got to attend an early screening preview of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 3D (which I LOVE LOVE LOVED) and last night I met up with my homegirl Ollie for a fun date night in downtown LA. Ollie’s boyfriend Caleb was hosting a football party with the boys at their place so Ollie and I decided to sneak off for a little sushi dinner hang session. She took me out to the one of the best sushi places I’ve ever been to and we had one of our trademark awesome talks about music, life and other simple stuff ;) We had a blast!

Ollie is always looking out for me … she managed to find me an awesome copy of the Xanadu soundtrack on vinyl … is it any wonder I love her to death? She also FINALLY gave me a final mastered copy of her new EP Tequila Mockingbird which she is planning to release soon. OMG. It’s so good. She’ll be dropping the video for her new single Alive, which I can’t WAIT to share with all y’all … but I’m most excited for the world to hear her song 85 Blocks. It’s been my jam for MONTHS. Ollie shared the rough demos with me a few months ago … but the mastered final versions of her songs are just EVERYTHING. I’m so excited :)

Today looks like it’s gonna be a lazy Sunday … which is just fine by me. I hope all y’all’s weekends are going well … Happy Sunday!!

Interview With Katie Leclerc From Switched at Birth

The ABC Family breakout hit show Switched at Birth is back and things are going to be crazy. I know this because I got the chance to interview the oh so lovely Katie Leclerc, who plays Daphne, the other day. If you are a fan of the show then you know that Katie is an amazing actress but what some of you may not know is that she is an awesome person as well. I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to participate in a Q&A interview session with Leclerc and she was a pleasure to talk to. Of course a good part of the conversation had to do with the return of Switched at Birth, which just so happens to be tomorrow night at 8PM EST. Katie shared that there’s a lot of rebuilding for Daphne and Angelo, actually more like starting to build a relationship. Daphne will have to figure out what she cares about, what she wants and it will force to her go after what she wants. Life is going to continue to be a struggle for Daphne that is for sure. Things aren’t all bad though for Daphne she does find success in her [...]

Last night Darion and I made our way to Blipsy Barcade in Koreatown so that we could party with DJ Ollie and The Fumadores. The Fumadores are a DJ collective that spin party nights all over LA. Blipsy Barcade is an awesomely fun bar & arcade so … it was just a win/win situation. I’ve been to a few Fumadores parties and I knew we’d have fun … but Darion was a virgin. I’m happy to report that he had a blast … we all did! The beers were cheap, the tunes were fun and the video games were … well, mostly working.

My friend Ollie is not only a great DJ, she is also an amazing musician as well … that means she knows great music. I love going to parities where she spins because I know FOR SURE I’m gonna have a blast. Darion was very impressed with the music but he was also impressed with the video game selection. Like all arcades, a few of the machines ate some quarters but for the most part … we had a lot of fun playing some of our fave classic video games.

I’m not sure what is going on tonight just yet … I have to get my hair did this afternoon and then … who knows. Darion and a bunch of his extended friends (30+ at last count) are heading out to see The Devil Inside tonight. I’m not sure if David and I will go to the movies or end up somewhere else … but it’s the first weekend of 2012 so hopefully we’ll find something fun to do ;)

There Is Now a Great Choice of Radio Controlled Cars for All Tastes and Budgets

The depth and history of Jewish artwork can easily compete with any other culture's. There is a presence of Jewish art seemingly on every continent on the planet. This is of course because Judaism has such a wide reach and the spiritual stirring of Judaism is custom-built to be shared through artistic expression.

First Look: David Beckham Releases A First Promo Ad For David Beckham Bodywear

Back in May of last year, we learned that David Beckham would be unveiling a line of products that would include fragrances and his own line of underwear. David Beckham Bodywear will be available for purchase exclusively at H&M next month … and today we get our FIRST LOOK at Becks‘s newest underwear ad. As [...]

Considering that New Year’s Day fell on a Sunday this year, yesterday was the first full day of 2012 for me. I managed to get work done by day and then meet up and hang out with Darion by night. Poor D has been sick for far too long recently so last night was really our only chance to spend time together. The 3 of us (David included) went out for margaritas on the Sunset Strip so that we could catch up and just … hang. I also managed to find some time to watch cheesy movies yesterday … and happened to catch Poltergeist on cable. Not too bad for a Monday, I’d say.

Before the Xmas holiday, Darion had surgery that really opened him up to illness and the poor guy was a mess for a couple of weeks. By the time he got better, he had to fly up to Oregon to see his family for Xmas. If you can believe it, he got sick again while he was holidaying with his mom :( But, D managed to make it back to LA and altho we couldn’t hang out on New Year’s Eve (due to travel delays), we made the most of it by hanging out last night. It was really great to see him looking well again … and hopefully we’ll be hanging out again this week.

So, Poltergeist … truly one of my fave horror films of all time and deffo one of my fave 80s films. I saw Poltergeist for the first time when it debuted in cable in the early 80s and it scared the bejesus out of me:

When I watch the film even now, I’m reminded of how much it scared me as a child … such a great film. Y’all know how much I love the 80s and seeing all the fashions, hairstyles, toys and stuff featured in the film is always really fun. I used to be so jealous of Robbie and Carol Anne‘s bedroom because he seemed to have ALL of the coolest Star Wars toys. Then I would realize that he and his sister were tormented by demonic spirits and I wouldn’t be so jealous anymore … but still, dang, he had the best toys.

In any event, that was my day/night, pretty standard … can’t complain. Not sure what the plan is for tonight but … hopefully it’ll be fun.

Revising Your Novel Before Sending It To Binding Services

Birthdays come every year. Yet, we celebrate them with equal enthusiasm each year and sometimes even more than the previous year. We have far off friends and relatives who come over to celebrate and make our day special for us. We are given a royal treatment and lots of gifts. It is one day we can call our own and the day when we can have all our nonsense forgiven. Haven't you ever wondered what is it about birthdays that make them so special?

Ouchie! That sounds painful!

Here's hoping there were no further complications, and he can take the holiday to recover and rest!

What Are The Different Types Of Capo?

This opinion is very much shared by all fans of progressive rock music. Rush is one of the most influential progressive rock band of all time. And being this influential, it gives way to songs that this Canadian band would etch into the history of rock music. These three songs are not only the 3 best Rush songs, in my opinion, they mark important stages in their recording career.

Each year JibJab puts together a music video that encapsulates (as much as it can) all of the biggest stories of the year. The video for 2011 has been released and, as you might expect, is pretty entertaining. All of the big stories of 2011 are featured or at the very least alluded to … and as we countdown the end of 2011, this vid gives us a fun look back at the year that was. Click below to watch 2011, Buh-Bye!

Be honest … how many of the things featured in this video were things you totally forgot about? I’ll admit that I had almost totally forgot about the Schwarzenegger love child. LOL! What I love the most about the JibJab videos is that not only are they able to cover pretty much an entire year in just a few minutes but they do so with a catchy song. This is a fun vid, ain’t it?

While most identify 1964's "California Sun" with the Rivieras (from sun-drenched South Bend, Indiana), the song originated with New Orleans R&B singer Joe Jones, who is known for his Top Ten hit, "You Talk Too Much." Jones recorded "California Sun" in an R&B style backed by a horn section but met little success. The Rivieras replaced Jones' horn section with a guitar and organ trading riffs and reached #5 with the track. "California Sun" was covered in 1977 by punk rock pioneers the Ramones, who added distortion and amped up the speed of the Rivieras' track.

Organ Music: About Ballo Del Granduca by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck

Native American drone flutes are beautiful either on display or when played. Adding one of these beautiful musical instruments to your life is a wonderful way to surround yourself with culture and music. The sound produced is fascinating. It will calm the soul and soothe the mind. The double chamber offers a duel sound that can almost seem mysterious. And when not being played, their natural beauty can add to your home's decor.
