Find the Best Ukuleles

Max Bruch was born in 1838 and died in 1920. He lived through almost the entire Romantic age of music and into the dawn of the Modern era, but he never followed the 'new' music school of Wagner and Liszt. He composed music which can be described as 'classical romantic', somewhat in the style of Felix Mendelssohn.

Wacky Words of Wisdom Nautical Nuances

How many common expressions do we use daily to describe situations, actions, feelings - and how often do we really know what their origins are... how they developed into phrases of such regular usage, that they just roll off the tongue, seemingly without thought? Phew. This clip (above) is a little exhausting. Let's give you some details before you jump into it.

On Monday, Nancy Grace made a not so tactful comment while discussing the investigation of Whitney Houston's cause of death. Anyone who has ever watched Nancy's show before realizes that she is a brazen woman, prone to saying things that others wouldn't dare say. In regards to Whitney, rather than just say that investigators had to rule out murder as a cause of death, she painted a graphic image that horrified a lot of people, alluding to someone "pushing" or holding Whitney under the water in the tub.

This morning, Nancy was asked on Good Morning America to explain her speculation and word choice, but true to form, she made no apologies for her statements and insisted that she was merely referring to the reality of the tragedy.

Check out the video to watch the prosecutor instincts come flying out of her and hear her defense.

The truth of the matter is, she could have been more delicate, but that's just not Nancy's style. So, you either have to take her at face value, which is abrasive, or just put her out of your mind.

Introducing the Yamaha YPG 235 Portable Keyboard

There are different types of guitars that are available if someone wants to get started but for most it is either the acoustic or the electric guitar. And that is actually an easy way to avoid the confusion as most of the types basically fall in either of the two. But from a knowledge perspective if you wanted to know or say maybe a few months down the line you wish to upgrade your guitar, you should have some idea about the different types of guitars that are available.

Useful Sites and Resources For Becoming An Illustrator

Beneath the fluffy tutu's and the stretchy pink tights, ballet dancers are some of the world's fittest people. They obviously workout and work hard to achieve those Lycra encased abs and thighs of steel, and have probably been working on getting that type of body ever since they were kids, but that doesn't mean that you can't shape up using the same principles that ballet dancers do.

Matt Bomer has finally stepped the whole way out of the closet, and he has done it in an amazingly classy way:

During an award acceptance speech!

He's never been firmly in the closet -- always darting questions about it -- but this is the first time he's spoken about his family directly.

On Saturday he decided it was full-on time: he thanked his partner Simon and his children while accepting an award at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards! As if he couldn't be cuter!

We're so glad you decided to do it, what an inspiration for those out there struggling with revealing their sexual identity!

Axl Rose Now Is Anybody Still Listening?

There is something about the melody of a nursery rhyme that has lasted the ages. Perhaps it is because the melody is so simple that it has a natural catchiness to it. Other times it could be that the lyrics are so vivid that it embeds itself in the memory of the listener and singer. However who knew that when 'Jack and Jill went up the hill' it was right before a beheading and that it is really about a French king and queen.

Songwriters 3 Questions to Ask Yourself Before Writing Lyrics

It's common sense that you have to use the media to market your band. Naturally, the new media, like Facebook and Internet forums, is super necessary, but it is important to know how to work with the legacy media. It's true that the old media's best days are gone, but don't misunderstand the reach of newspapers, radio and TV. They all still reach a large general audience.

Josh Hutcherson, one of the principal stars of the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games, paid a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show this week to promote his new film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. Altho his Ellen appearance was mostly to promote Journey, he did a bit of promo work for The Hunger Games as well. Click below to check out video of Josh telling Ellen and her audience about a dastardly prank he played on Jennifer Lawrence while on the set of The Hunger Games. Trust me, it’s a pretty good prank :)

LOL! How cute is this video? Altho I’m still not totally convinced, I am starting to warm up to the idea of Josh in the role of Peeta Mellark in The Hunger Games. I’ll need to see the film in full before I can be totally sure but, yeah, I think he’ll do a good job. As for this prank, well, I think it’s absolute genius. I know I’d prolly flip my shizz if I found a tracker jacker in my bathroom. OY!

Bruckner Symphony No 8

If you're one of the multitudes of rappers that have the great lyrics down pat, but you're kind of out in the wilderness as to beat editing, and creating rap beats for your drum tracks, which is the foundation of hip hop, and/or rap, then this is a great tutorial that addresses all the issues you'll face. Let a real percussionist that has played drums and/or percussion for forty-five years share the secrets to finding, and tweaking samples, and making beats sound truly natural. Rather than a tutorial about a particular software, this is one that it's hard-earned principles are pretty much universal across all MIDI sequencing products.

Awesome Universal Tips For Beat Editing Part 1

I believe there are many reasons for people to record their music. The legacy of one's talent will live on long beyond the composer or performer. Are we witnessing the end of the CD and DVD and books? If anyone has visited the Apple computer website, you will notice that the new Mac Mini and the Mac air have no optical drive and Apple has launched the Mac App store. Clearly this is a sign that the beginning of the end has come for the CD. When the couple this with the Amazon cloud and the Apple cloud the evidence is even more compelling. Most new vehicles have MP3 attachments so you don't need a CD for the car anymore. Most iPods can connect to high end speaker systems so you don't need CD's for stereos anymore.

Only in El Lay...

Some of the characters that troll up and down Hollywood Blvd. got into a huge brawl last week in front of the Kodak Theatre where many tourists visit.

Catwoman, in particular, pepper sprayed a man dressed as Jack Sparrow when the two got into a physical altercation. A second pirate and alien were also allegedly involved in the fight.

Catwoman claims she maced Jack in self-defense because "he was antagonizing me to do so."

This is what she told news reporters:

"I said, 'I'm giving you fair warning. If you do not get away from me I will spray you in the face.'"

And, so she did.

And we know she's not lying because Willy Wonka confirmed her story.

Well, then, now that we know Willy Wonka's on the case, everybody should feel safe.

This isn't the first time the characters of Hollywood Blvd. have tussled in front of tourists who visit the area.

Last September, SpongeBob SquarePants was arrested after getting violent with two women on the street. In another incident, Spider-Man was taken away in handcuffs too.

In all seriousness, LAPD needs to crack down on the weirdos that creep up and down the streets. It's not even funny to see their ridiculous cheap-ass costumes parade around Hollywood and Highland. It just makes us sad now.

Glee: Michael Jackson Episode Recap (PHOTOS)

I wasn’t sure how tonight’s Michael Jackson episode would fare, was it going to be a huge disappointment? Absolutely not. The kids did a great job of honoring the King of Pop, and the one hour episode was jam packed with song and dance. Without further ado, here’s tonight’s recap. The episode begins with Blaine’s rendition of “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’”, joined by Mercedes, Kurt, Santana and Brittany. Nice way to kick off the show. Loved it. Sequined glove and all. Finn finds Rachel at her locker and tells her it’s been three days to the minute since he’d proposed to her and she claims that she does want to marry him but everything is happening so fast. Okay, he says. Take a few more days to think it over. It’s been decided that New Directions will channel MJ during Regionals. As the kids are getting their caffeine fix, Rachel tells the gang that she just doesn’t get who Michael Jackson is. In walks Sebastian, who informs them that the Warblers will be doing MJ at Regionals and they’re up first so New Directions best be thinking of something else. Blaine apparently let it slip that morning on what ND’s [...]

Tips to Drawing Realistic Portraits

Grandpa Anton, he took a match and he looked at me (I was sitting on the coach, parallel to his sofa chair, eleven years old) and he looked me, then turning away struck the match on his shoe with a quick pompous gesture, drew heavily on his wooden pipe, then at last-shot a puff of smoke into the air- and then another and another until the tobacco was red hot inside the chimney of the pipe. Satisfied, he continued on, his right hand gasping the pipe, between his index and second finger, resting the side of his palm on the sofa chair, his legs now halfway crossed, his small body pressed backward into the softness of the chair, a wee unshaven. He mumbles in a confidential tone of one who relates to an unbelievable moment of quiet-the television in front of him, no more than four feet away, he's watching 'Gunsmoke' (he loves cowboy movies); it's nine o'clock in the evening. At this moment his thumb moves, he's checking the stuffed burning tobacco in his pipe, so do I-but from a distance.

Arts and Entertainment:Music from EzineArticles.com

Songwriters set out to create a song with what is known as a "universal appeal." What causes a song to have universal appeal? Singer/Songwriter Cat Stevens answered this question in 1970 with his masterpiece "Father and Son". Originally written for a project depicting a Russian son's desire to join the Revolution against his father's wishes, the song became known as the anthem of a generation in its depiction of the age-old struggle between a parent and their adolescent child.

Influences Of Music During Emotional Experiences

The piano is one of the most popular musical instruments in the world today. It is widely used in all types of musical genres but they are most common in jazz and classical music. Pianos come in many types, but the two types that are most common are the upright piano and the grand piano. The piano is the foundation of many musical genres, and these instruments often remain with their owners for decades.

The Kardashian Sisters Go Topless For Denim Line

The Kardashian girls know what sells, and they have it going on in the topless pic for their denim line. I know a lot of people will be checking out the ad, but will they buy the jeans? When getting a steady stream of negative press take your top off! Hey, it’s worked before! The Kardashian sisters already have their own clothing line for Sears and are now expanding with a denim line. I think this is a great idea. I love their clothes, and girls with curves need some good denim! Of course Celebuzz has all the deets, which you can see here, and they spoke with Kardashian Kollection co-creator Bruno Schiavi. He told them, “We’re very excited about it. It launches in about four weeks. The girls love denim. And then we are really excited about home. Home looks incredible. There are three designs in home, everything from bed to cushions and pillows to bathroom accessories and shower curtains. Home is spectacular so we can’t wait for that. And swimwear of course is to die for. We are shooting our new swim campaign actually in January. We’re very excited about that.” The ads are cute, but I am [...]

Selecting the Right Bass Strings

Was Charles Alkan really a mystery as the pianist Ronald Smith (a champion of Alkan's works) called him in the title to his biography of the composer Alkan the Enigma? There is an essay by Stephanie McCallum, herself a pianist and champion of Alkan's works in her own right, that discusses the possibility that Alkan suffered from a form of autism or a mental illness. The fact that Alkan went into seclusion about 1848 after a brilliant start to his career as a composer and performer does beg the question.

Stars Party At Sundance And First Film Gets Standing Ovation

It’s winter and the time of year that the stars come out to play at Park City, Utah, for the annual Sundance Film Festival. This year there are a whole horde of celebs promoting their films and partying together over the 10 day event. There must be so many stories and goings on…what happens in [...]

Last night I saw the brilliant Cynthia Nixon play a role on stage what could well be the performance of her life, and that will see her take home the Tony award. Wit has just opened on Broadway in NY and she got not 1 but 2 standing ovations for her portrayal of Vivian Bearing, a stage 4 ovarian cancer patient undergoing aggressive treatment… Oh my goodness, it took my breath away!

Wit is on at the Samuel J. Friedman Theater and if you are in NYC or passing through, I cannot recommend this play more highly. Cynthia Nixon is most well known for her portrayal of Sex and the city’s Miranda, and I would assume that most people see her as a good actress but maybe not a great one. I never imagined that she would be this good! I now see her as an outstanding actress.

Margaret Edson’s play, cleverly titled ‘Wit’ is about about cancer and poetry. It was Off Broadway in the late 1990s and won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for drama. Don’t expect light comedy, but humor (the most profound and amazing kind) is in abundance. The story centers on a poetry professor (Cynthia) reflecting on her life, relationships and own humanity as she lies in hospital dying from a very aggressive form of cancer.

Cynthia Nixon never leaves the stage, and performs what appears to be a monologue, a one-woman show stopping performance. I think I can say quite confidently that it was one of the bravest, most vulnerable performances I have ever seen (not to give too much away about the end) but Cynthia has shaved her head for the role and has 100% shed every ounce of Miranda left in her. Cynthia herself is a cancer survivor, and I do believe that she is treating this play and this character as the role of her life…

I left the theater blown away, numb, and the woman siting next to me told me that she is a 9 year survivor of stage 4 ovarian cancer. This just topped off my night – if I didn’t have shivers running down my body already (which I did), I certainly did after that.

See this show!!! I very rarely say this without reservation… and expect to laugh, cry and be thoroughly transformed. I will never watch a scene with Carrie and Miranda the same way again.

What a difference neon pink lipstick, globs of mascara, and pounds of bronzer make.

Snooki tweeted the above (left) pic of herself going au naturel for an all-natural photo shoot. (Did someone really ask her to do that??)

She looks waaaaaay better and A LOT younger too! Snooki actually has really nice skin and very pretty eyes! She should reconsider all that horrid make-up next time she goes out. Srsly, we much more prefer this new look.

What do U think? Should Snooks stay natural?

Ryan Seacrest Partners With Mark Cuban To Create A New Television Network

2012 will be a BIG year for Ryan Seacrest!
On top of his busy schedule that includes American Idol, hosting a radio show, and producing numerous reality hits for E!, the multi-hyphenate is creating his own television network!
Seacrest is partnering with Mark Cuban to rebrand the already existing HDNET as AXS TV (in case you were [...]

Very inspirational...but also very dangerous!

We've just learned that Prince Harry is set to climb Mt. Everest this spring, along with members of his soldier-benefiting charity group Walking With the Wounded.

No official statement has been made regarding this epic adventure, although Harry's spokesman has said that his involvement here will "all depend on his Army commitments."

One of Harry's potential climbing buddies, 21-year-old Mollie Hughes, HAS spoken up on the subject. Here's what she had to say about it:

"He won't be doing the full climb, as it will take a long time and it requires rigorous training, so I think he'll be joining at base camp."

Still INCREDIBLY impressive!

If Harry ends up going through with this, we will certainly wish him the best of luck...but we'll hope he takes absolutely every precaution to stay safe on this treacherous climb!

What do U think? Will Harry be able to make it to the summit of Mt. Everest???

The Basics of Custom Framing Materials and Construction

The S.M.A.R.T. acronym offers a useful checklist - New Year seems to be a good time to turn over a new leaf, stop procrastinating, or make that change you've been putting off or started and not continued. And whilst approximately 50% of us make New Year resolutions, less than a quarter of those stick to them. Somehow we seem to hope that because it's a New Year resolution it is more likely to be successful than making a change at a different time!

Katy Perry, Tim Tebow A Possbility?

Could there be a possible Katy Perry, Tim Tebow relationship? Well, maybe if the singer’s parents get their way. It’s all over the web today. The strangest combination of names you can think of: a professional quarterback who is more popular off the field, and a singer who just had her heart broken. Why are they even being mentioned together? It all started in an article printed by OK! Magazine, which says that Katy has always had a thing for Tim. Her parents are also big time bible thumpers, which probably means they would drink Tebow’s bath water if they had to. The magazine quotes a “source,” who said “Katy’s mom firmly believes the best cure for heartache is to quickly fall in love again… In her mind, Tebow is the perfect guy for her daughter…” Wouldn’t he be the perfect guy for ANYONE’S daughter? I mean he’s handsome, and seems like he has his head on straight. The whole “GB2” – which means “Go Broncos” and “God Bless” is super-viral right now. Photos of people doing the “Tebowing” stance are showing up world wide. He is a superstar. Guess who else is a superstar right now? That’s right, Katy [...]

Yo! Mark Wahlberg was a PIMP!

There was a time, not so long ago it feels to us, that people used Walkmans to listen to music, MTV primarily played music videos and this guy paid his bills by doing -- wait for it -- BOOM, workout videos! And let us tell you: he knew how to make you SWEAT!

Check out this vintage video of Mark back in the day, doing some pushups on chairs, hanging with "fly honeys" and flexing to the max!

Can they go back and add this into the I Love the 90s specials ... if its not already included, mind you!

How To Keep Your Vinyl Albums Unscratched

The Compact Disc altered how computers and music devices stored, played back and read data, and unlike past cassette and floppy discs, added more storage memory for computer users. Originally created in the early 90s, CDs were designed to replace floppy drives and cassettes, and over a 10-year period, they not only replaced floppies and cassettes, but made them completely obsolete. Videos, music, data and even video games were all placed on a CD, which was used as a new, multi-purpose data storage item of the future. If it were not for the CD, music, software and even movies would not look the same.

How to Form a Quality Band

The Yamaha YPT-220 Digital Piano Keyboard is a decent starting electronic keyboard for developing a student's skills. Beginners will find that the keyboard allows a learner to learn easy parts that he or she can in due course stick to and play throughout practice. No one was safe during Seth Rogen's monologue at the 2012 Independent Spirit Awards last night!

Turns out, Selena Gomez's new tattoo is very close to her heart.... but, it isn't actually a heart.

So, what is it exactly?

The Disney star revealed what the tiny little tat on her right wrist actually is:

"It's a music note. Everybody thought it was a heart, but it's a little music note.

I was named after a singer and music obviously is a big influence for me. And there's music stuff with my mom that means a lot to me, too."

Aww! Our sweet little Selenita is so sentimental! And what an awesome shout out to the late Selena, the Latina pop star of the '90s.

Loves it!

Last night was a very quite night for me. I pretty much spent most of my time reading and watching TV. I wasn’t planning on settling in for a movie last night but I came upon a showing of Rocky II on cable and was immediately sucked in. I haven’t seen any of the Rocky movies in many years … and as for Rocky II itself, well, I’m quite certain I haven’t watched the movie in full for well over 25 years. Thankfully, I caught the film right as it started and, well, it was a Rocky night for me ;)

I have to say, I kinda love the usual Rocky movie formula … the first 60% of the film features Rocky refusing to fight. The next 30% of the film features Rocky deciding to fight and then training to fight. The next 8% of the film features Rocky getting beaten to a pulp by whoever he is fighting. And the final 2% of the film features Rocky coming back to win in the end. We can’t help but root for Rocky because he is always the underdog. It’s a brilliant formula. To be honest, I think Rocky IV is my fave Rocky film … if you add the USA vs. Soviet Union mid-80s tension to the Rocky formula, you’ve got GOLD. If you are in the mood for a feel good, all-American movie and you can handle watching men beat each other silly, then I wholeheartedly recommend the first 4 Rocky films. I believe if you search your cable listings, you’ll find that Rocky III is on TV tonight and Rocky IV is on TV tomorrow.

Yo, Adrian!

No plans for tonight … I may watch Rocky III, I may not. I have a bit of stuff to take care of around the house and I’m still really into my Walt Disney book so … I’m thinkin’ it’s going to be a really quite night here at the ol’ homestead. Happy Tuesday!

Oprah Makes Joel Osteen Admit That He Thinks Homosexuality Is A Sin

Oh, but good news! The good pastor says despite being sinners, the gays will be welcomed into heaven with open arms … once they admit fault for their "sin," of course.
What a guy, huh? Such understanding.
On Sunday night's episode of Oprah’s Next Chapter, The Big O sat down for a controversial interview with Pastor [...]

Oh hell to every yes!

Now, some have said to us that they've felt a drag in the current season of Glee. Not that it hasn't been good, but that something has been missing; something that was really prevelant in previous seasons, but blantantly missing from this one. To them we say ... quit your whining! Here's your damn tribute episode!

Kicking off the new year, we're getting season three's mega-ultra-super-extraoridnary tribute to the late-great Michael Jackson. What is truly incredible about this episode is the sheer mass amount of music that will be covered and the nice homage to the full spectrum of his catalogue.

While promoting the show this weekend at FOX's Television Critics Association bash, a few of the show's cast members teased what will be coming on the episode. Let's go ahead an put up a SPOILER ALERT right here, before someone stumbles upon a tidbit of info they just don't want to know. For the rest of you...

First of all, the episode is going to feature EVERYONE, including newbie cute Grant Gustin. According to the stud, his character Sebastian is going to do something "majorly douche-y" to one of the members of New Directions that pits him against the entire group, particularly Santana. (We're guessing his target is her beloved Brittany then!) Grant reveals:

“Santana comes to Dalton [Academy] and confronts me. And then we go into ‘Smooth Criminal’ together.”

Okay. So far, so good! Now, you Dalton fans will be getting a double dose of Warbler fare, as the boys will pop up for their own number (a Jackson 5 treat) and a throwdown against the New Directions to Bad. Other HIGHlights from the episode are said to include Harry Shum Jr. and Kevin McHale waling and dancing to the Michael-Janet duet Scream, while Kurt Hummel will be serenading his beloved Blaine with the oddly picked tune, Ben. No one -- and we do mean no one -- is more confused by the song selection than Chris Colfer, who says:

“I have no idea [why it was chosen], but I know it was voted the worst song in history by some group. It was about a rat, but we’re singing it about Kurt’s boyfriend. I’m not sure what the connection is! They didn’t [change lyrics from "Ben" to "Blaine"]; that would have been clever, though.”

Guess we'll have to wait and see how that one pans out! LOL!

Are U looking forward to the upcoming Michael Jackson tribute? Is there a scene or song you are really looking forward to?

Beyoncé Jay Z Release A Statement About The Birth Of Blue Ivy

Mere moments ago, we got our first listen of a NEW song released by Jay-Z that was written in honor of and features guest vocals by his newborn daughter Blue Ivy (who was born late Saturday night, under the strictest security). Right now, we get to hear officially from Jay and his wife Beyoncé about [...]

The fabulous Betty White will celebrate her 90th birthday next Tuesday January 17 but on Monday the 16th, NBC will pay homage to the enduring Golden Girl with a TV special called Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A Tribute to America’s Golden Girl. This birthday special will feature a host of celebrity stars that will share their Birthday Lurve for our dear Betty. Additionally, the Betty Crocker company is also celebrating their 90th birthday this year … and they graciously provided a massively festive birthday cake for Betty White‘s NBC birthday celebration. Click below to check out some photos of Betty White, her famous friends Carol Burnett & Mary Tyler Moore and her very own Betty Crocker birthday cake at last night’s TV special taping.

From one legend to another, Betty Crocker has created a show-stopping birthday cake for Betty White’s 90th birthday special, which airs Monday, January 16 (8-9:30 p.m. ET) on NBC. Betty Crocker will present Betty White with a vibrant Triple Chocolate Celebration Cake inspired by the legendary star. Betty Crocker will also provide each celebrity guest of the NBC special with one of several hundred individual cakes that replicate the look of the Celebration Cake’s top tier. Both Betty Crocker and Betty White are celebrating their ninetieth year as American icons. “Betty White is one of the most popular actresses of our time, and Betty Crocker is honored to create this one-of-a-kind birthday cake for her,” said Kristen Olson, food editor with Betty Crocker. “This cake is our gift to Betty White in celebration of her ninety amazing years, and we think this vibrant cake really reflects her personality and the many things we love about her.” The three-tiered Triple Chocolate Celebration Cake, flown by private plane from Betty Crocker’s Minneapolis home to Los Angeles for Betty White’s birthday, is a decadent chocolate cake layered with sumptuous chocolate mousse and rich chocolate ganache. Marrying classic and modern elements, the red, orange and magenta cake is decorated with dozens of fondant roses, shimmery edible pearls and golden candles – and hidden among the roses – a small replica of Betty’s beloved dog Pontiac. The NBC special will celebrate White’s 90th birthday and will honor one of the world’s most beloved entertainers. The star-studded event will be taped live at the Biltmore Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including many of White’s co-stars, will be on hand to deliver their birthday wishes. The evening will include special musical performances, surprise appearances and comedy, featuring the irreverent tone, spirit and energy that are the hallmark of White’s six-decade career in show business. The 90-minute special is produced by Brad Lachman Productions and Universal Television; the executive producers are Brad Lachman, Jon Macks and Steve Ridgeway.

Betty White and Betty Crocker are American legends … icons … national treasures … it only makes sense that they would team up to celebrate their 90th birthdays together. I mean … this cake … wow. Next week’s NBC TV special will be rad because it will be all about the celebration of Betty White. At the age of 90 years young, Betty White endures as one of our most beloved stars. Doesn’t she look amazing in these photos? I can’t wait to send my Birthday Lurve to Betty on her big day next week. Talk about your Happy Birthdays ;)

Kathy Griffin To Host New Show Kathy

We already have a ton of them, but Bravo seems to be continuing to add to the list! In November last year they announced that Andy Cohen’s late-night show Watch What Happens Live would be airing five nights a week (!!) but now the cable network has gone further and announced today that comedian Kathy [...]

My Saturday turned out to be a pretty fun day/night. Yesterday morning I got to attend an early screening preview of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 3D (which I LOVE LOVE LOVED) and last night I met up with my homegirl Ollie for a fun date night in downtown LA. Ollie’s boyfriend Caleb was hosting a football party with the boys at their place so Ollie and I decided to sneak off for a little sushi dinner hang session. She took me out to the one of the best sushi places I’ve ever been to and we had one of our trademark awesome talks about music, life and other simple stuff ;) We had a blast!

Ollie is always looking out for me … she managed to find me an awesome copy of the Xanadu soundtrack on vinyl … is it any wonder I love her to death? She also FINALLY gave me a final mastered copy of her new EP Tequila Mockingbird which she is planning to release soon. OMG. It’s so good. She’ll be dropping the video for her new single Alive, which I can’t WAIT to share with all y’all … but I’m most excited for the world to hear her song 85 Blocks. It’s been my jam for MONTHS. Ollie shared the rough demos with me a few months ago … but the mastered final versions of her songs are just EVERYTHING. I’m so excited :)

Today looks like it’s gonna be a lazy Sunday … which is just fine by me. I hope all y’all’s weekends are going well … Happy Sunday!!

Interview With Katie Leclerc From Switched at Birth

The ABC Family breakout hit show Switched at Birth is back and things are going to be crazy. I know this because I got the chance to interview the oh so lovely Katie Leclerc, who plays Daphne, the other day. If you are a fan of the show then you know that Katie is an amazing actress but what some of you may not know is that she is an awesome person as well. I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to participate in a Q&A interview session with Leclerc and she was a pleasure to talk to. Of course a good part of the conversation had to do with the return of Switched at Birth, which just so happens to be tomorrow night at 8PM EST. Katie shared that there’s a lot of rebuilding for Daphne and Angelo, actually more like starting to build a relationship. Daphne will have to figure out what she cares about, what she wants and it will force to her go after what she wants. Life is going to continue to be a struggle for Daphne that is for sure. Things aren’t all bad though for Daphne she does find success in her [...]

Last night Darion and I made our way to Blipsy Barcade in Koreatown so that we could party with DJ Ollie and The Fumadores. The Fumadores are a DJ collective that spin party nights all over LA. Blipsy Barcade is an awesomely fun bar & arcade so … it was just a win/win situation. I’ve been to a few Fumadores parties and I knew we’d have fun … but Darion was a virgin. I’m happy to report that he had a blast … we all did! The beers were cheap, the tunes were fun and the video games were … well, mostly working.

My friend Ollie is not only a great DJ, she is also an amazing musician as well … that means she knows great music. I love going to parities where she spins because I know FOR SURE I’m gonna have a blast. Darion was very impressed with the music but he was also impressed with the video game selection. Like all arcades, a few of the machines ate some quarters but for the most part … we had a lot of fun playing some of our fave classic video games.

I’m not sure what is going on tonight just yet … I have to get my hair did this afternoon and then … who knows. Darion and a bunch of his extended friends (30+ at last count) are heading out to see The Devil Inside tonight. I’m not sure if David and I will go to the movies or end up somewhere else … but it’s the first weekend of 2012 so hopefully we’ll find something fun to do ;)

There Is Now a Great Choice of Radio Controlled Cars for All Tastes and Budgets

The depth and history of Jewish artwork can easily compete with any other culture's. There is a presence of Jewish art seemingly on every continent on the planet. This is of course because Judaism has such a wide reach and the spiritual stirring of Judaism is custom-built to be shared through artistic expression.

First Look: David Beckham Releases A First Promo Ad For David Beckham Bodywear

Back in May of last year, we learned that David Beckham would be unveiling a line of products that would include fragrances and his own line of underwear. David Beckham Bodywear will be available for purchase exclusively at H&M next month … and today we get our FIRST LOOK at Becks‘s newest underwear ad. As [...]

Considering that New Year’s Day fell on a Sunday this year, yesterday was the first full day of 2012 for me. I managed to get work done by day and then meet up and hang out with Darion by night. Poor D has been sick for far too long recently so last night was really our only chance to spend time together. The 3 of us (David included) went out for margaritas on the Sunset Strip so that we could catch up and just … hang. I also managed to find some time to watch cheesy movies yesterday … and happened to catch Poltergeist on cable. Not too bad for a Monday, I’d say.

Before the Xmas holiday, Darion had surgery that really opened him up to illness and the poor guy was a mess for a couple of weeks. By the time he got better, he had to fly up to Oregon to see his family for Xmas. If you can believe it, he got sick again while he was holidaying with his mom :( But, D managed to make it back to LA and altho we couldn’t hang out on New Year’s Eve (due to travel delays), we made the most of it by hanging out last night. It was really great to see him looking well again … and hopefully we’ll be hanging out again this week.

So, Poltergeist … truly one of my fave horror films of all time and deffo one of my fave 80s films. I saw Poltergeist for the first time when it debuted in cable in the early 80s and it scared the bejesus out of me:

When I watch the film even now, I’m reminded of how much it scared me as a child … such a great film. Y’all know how much I love the 80s and seeing all the fashions, hairstyles, toys and stuff featured in the film is always really fun. I used to be so jealous of Robbie and Carol Anne‘s bedroom because he seemed to have ALL of the coolest Star Wars toys. Then I would realize that he and his sister were tormented by demonic spirits and I wouldn’t be so jealous anymore … but still, dang, he had the best toys.

In any event, that was my day/night, pretty standard … can’t complain. Not sure what the plan is for tonight but … hopefully it’ll be fun.

Revising Your Novel Before Sending It To Binding Services

Birthdays come every year. Yet, we celebrate them with equal enthusiasm each year and sometimes even more than the previous year. We have far off friends and relatives who come over to celebrate and make our day special for us. We are given a royal treatment and lots of gifts. It is one day we can call our own and the day when we can have all our nonsense forgiven. Haven't you ever wondered what is it about birthdays that make them so special?

Well, this situation just got a whole lot stickier.

We reported yesterday that Debra Messing, who recently divorced her husband, Daniel Zelman, had already started dating her Smash co-star Will Chase, but what we didn't realize that the Broadway actor was already MARRIED to Stephanie Gibson - and now they're getting divorced!

Not good!

We have a feeling that this one is a whole lot messier and a whole lot less 'amicable' than what it appears!

But hey! Maybe she can use it to pull a Brandi Glanville and land herself on Real Housewives of New York!

The Top 5 Must Hear Johnny Cash Albums And Why

"Famous Songwriter" is often an oxymoron. Songwriting is an extremely difficult art, and, although the rewards for those who become successful are great, fame and fortune for songwriters is hard to come by. Here are 5 great musicians who write songs that I think aren't nearly as famous as they should be.
