Late yesterday afternoon, David and I met up with our dear friend Gillian and a group of new friends at the Cat and Fiddle Pub in Hollywood to hang out, share stories and break bread together. Altho it was a pretty hot day, we managed to enjoy the beautiful SoCal weather in the cool shade.The rest of the day was pretty low key … so it was basically the perfect lazy Summer day.

The Cat & Fiddle Pub is one of the first places I visited on my first visit to LA all those years ago and I always forget what a great place it is. The atmosphere is so relaxed. Unfortch the location isn’t the best which means that parking is a nightmare but I was reminded yesterday how much I love that place :)

As I mentioned, the rest of the day was pretty quiet … David and I just hung out at home. I love how you can literally feel things slowing down as we settle into Summer. This weekend, especially, will be a lazy one … the 4th of July holiday weekend should be a fun, quiet 4 days. I hope all y’all have a fun weekend! Enjoy it!! Happy Friday!

As part of Linkin Park’s ongoing musical involvement with the Transformers franchise, the band drew thousands to Red Square in Moscow for a special performance. I’m not sure I have ever seen a movie promoted quite like this one. We’ve been inundated with trailers for Dark Of The Moon, giving us rousing sneak peeks into the epic CGI and special effects that have been a mainstay for the films. Somehow, someway, the folks behind the film have 1-upped themselves for the second time. Part of the ground breaking effort to stuff the film down our throats includes one of the most innovative bands of our time; Linkin Park. The band has been involved with the franchise since the very beginning, with a single for each of the films so far. Their new track “Iridescent” will be released as part of the third movie’s soundtrack. One of a kind special effects come along with a one of a kind band. LP is the perfect combo for the movies because of their technologically advanced sound. Real World's most volatile bad boy ‘Puck' David Rainey has been arrested and charged in a domestic violence case. Puck was taken into custody last week by the LAPD and booked on suspicion of felony corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant.

Cohabitant? That has to mean a new girlfriend, right? They couldn't mean his son, who Puck's already sufficiently traumatized for life when he got behind the wheel of their car drunk and flipped it into a San Diego creek with the 8-year-old boy trapped in the backseat. They would specify if he had hurt a minor, right?

Ugh! This guy really has some serious issues, issues we don't think he has ever really dealt with or ben punished for. Hopefully, this latest violent act didn't leave anyone too badly hurt!

Hanks stopped by a Univision studio this week to lend a hand with the weather, and for whatever the reason, the video of his goofy dance has gone viral. Okay, so I’m just as puzzled as you are about why the heck he would be at a Spanish language television studio in the first place. Sure, he’s out plugging his new film, but it’s just an odd combination. What’s even better is that anyone who has lived in the US for any period of time can at least spout off a few Spanish phrases, yet he acts completely oblivious when they start talking to him. It’s pretty funny stuff. After a few awkward moments, the party makes its way over to the green screen for a little weather presentation with meteorologist Chiquinquira Delgado. That’s when Tom Hanks the entertainer kicks in. Rather than stand there looking like a fool, he decides it’s time to bust out a goofy, Latin-themed dance, which was only a tad offensive. Although Ricky Gervais raised enough enough eyebrows during his hosting gig at last year's Golden Globes that he was told he would not be invited back, the comedian recently spoke out at the Edinburgh International Festival and claimed they've asked him back - and was even invited to host last year's Academy Awards, as well!!

He reveals:

“I love NBC, I love the fact they stuck by me through it. I don’t think I should do it. What am I going back as? They said to my agent would he like to be on our list. I couldn’t do the Oscars. It’s a thankless task for a comedian. They don’t want to hear jokes, they want to hear if they have won the most important award of their career. I got into this business so I didn’t have to put a suit on and sit behind a desk five times a week. It would be strange to do it.”

Meanwhile, a rep from ABC has countered that he was NEVER approached!

Last night I met up with my friends Ollie, Tamar, Caleb and Rob in Koreatown to welcome our dear friend Irene back home to SoCal for the weekend. As you might be aware, a hurricane named Irene is pounding the East Coast this weekend and as a result, our friend Irene has become a bit of an Internet sensation on Twitter (her username is @Irene and folks have been tweeting at her like crazy). Here in LA, the weather is perfectly fine … and last night we enjoyed a lovely Korean BBQ dinner together to celebrate.

The night started out well enough, we ate drank and were merry … but then came the alcohol and, well, the rest of the night got away from me. I’m telling you, Soju is an evil evil drink and you have to be very careful whenever the stuff is nearby. I was supposed to meet up with Darion for a VMAs party after dinner but, unfortch, poor judgement (and too much booze) ruined those plans :( Today has been a rough one, let me tell you :( But it really was amazing getting to spend time with Irene last night. We do try to meet up whenever she visits LA or I’m in NYC. She’s a total doll and I love her entirely.

I’m really not sure how the rest of my day will turn out but at some point I hope the blistering pain in my head will cease for a minute so that I can stop thinking of ways to hurl myself out the closest window. OY!
